Technia Partners with Wind Farm Zeewolde to Pioneer Sustainable Community-Driven Energy

24 October 2025

Technia has contributed to improving the efficiency of Wind Farm Zeewolde through smart automation. Wind Farm Zeewolde is the largest wind farm in the Netherlands and the world’s largest local renewable energy initiative. The project was founded and financed by more than 200 residents and landowners in the surrounding area. The wind farm’s 83 turbines demonstrate the local community’s commitment and determination to promote sustainable and large-scale energy production.

The Zeewolde wind power project faced challenges due to its extensive size and decentralized organizational structure. Managing individual contracts and coordinating a large number of turbines required strict document management, process automation, and real-time collaboration. Additional challenges included scattered workflows, urgent technical needs during the construction phase, inefficient software solutions, and demands for traceability throughout the project’s lifecycle.

Technia’s solution to these challenges was the implementation of Alfamail VISI. The result was streamlined workflows, better-structured project data, and improved communication flows. The automation also accelerated the project’s timeline, ensured regulatory compliance through integrated contract and operational structures, and enabled a scalable model for future energy projects. Today, the wind farm supplies energy to over 300,000 households, reducing their dependence on fossil fuels. The partnership demonstrates how technology, local collaboration, and automation can drive large-scale renewable energy initiatives while integrating sustainability into every step of the process.
