Meet the Entrepreneurs in the Group: Genus

06 November 2025

As part of our new Meet & Greet series, we met with Erik Hannisdal, Interim CEO of the no-code software company Genus, to learn more about their journey. Addnode Group acquired Genus in July 2025. Based in Oslo, the company is now part of our Process Management Division.

In one sentence – tell us about Genus!
Genus is a Norwegian software company that combines a powerful no-code platform with expert services to help enterprises in complex and regulated industries build and scale bespoke business applications faster and with less risk.

You just joined Addnode a few months back. How has the initial period after closing been?
It’s been great. We’ve been warmly welcomed by Addnode Group’s central team and the other companies in our division. What’s impressed us most is how quickly our sister companies reached out to explore joint opportunities.

Why Addnode Group? Which factors weighed most?
We saw in Addnode Group a long-term partner with the industrial mindset, complementary businesses, and customer reach to help us scale internationally. But what truly stood out was the cultural fit—clarity, honesty, and a no-nonsense attitude in every conversation.

What customer value can you now deliver that you couldn’t before?
Being part of Addnode Group allows us to extend our value beyond the Genus platform. By combining our no-code capabilities with domain-specific solutions across the group, we can help customers integrate and adapt business solutions faster and more cost-effectively. We also see strong potential to expand service delivery around the Genus platform in collaboration with expert IT consultancies such as Decerno.

We are soon going into 2026! What are your top three priorities for the next year?
Expand into the Swedish market, advance the platform with AI and usability improvements, and reinforce our position in Norway – leveraging Addnode Group’s network and shared capabilities.

Looking ahead, which capabilities or networks in Addnode Group are you most excited to tap into?
We’ve already seen value from the Process Division’s CTO Forum and the cross-sales conference. Most of all, we’re excited to collaborate directly with other group companies for shared customers and demonstrate that our combined offering is greater than the sum of its parts.

What’s next for Genus inside Addnode Group?
The focus now is on scaling internationally and deepening collaboration across the group to bring the Genus no-code platform to more industries and customers.
