Document Automation with AI

24 October 2025

Ida Infront, part of the Process Management Division, has supported the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) in Sweden by automating their documentation process with AI. ARN is a public authority that functions much like a court, with the main task of impartially resolving disputes between consumers and business operators. Previously, ARN’s staff spent a large share of their time manually classifying documents, representing a significant use of both personnel resources and time.

To reduce this manual effort, improve efficiency, and lower costs, Ida Infront introduced and implemented a solution in which incoming documents in the iipax case management system are automatically classified by an AI model trained on ARN’s own data. Using machine learning techniques, the model can accurately distinguish between document types such as applications, receipts, and correspondence. The solution also integrates automated records management, further enhancing operational efficiency.

The result is today a fast, reliable, and secure process for handling and organizing large volumes of documents – fully automated. Initial measurements show that the AI-based classification reaches an accuracy of nearly 100 percent, far above the target of 75 percent. This solution demonstrates how AI can enable smarter digitalization, creating more efficient public services that benefit both citizens and society.
